Why
a Site for Women in Property Investment?
|
I'm
glad you asked...
Firstly,
I guess, because I'm a "Woman in Property Investment"
myself. I bought my first investment property in 1990, quite
by accident, and never looked back. Well, that's not strictly
true, I've certainly had my fair share of problems and learnt
the lessons from them (not always first time around).
|
|
I've
found that no matter what I've done in my life, no matter
what jobs I've worked, ventures I've started or businesses
I've launched, the one constant that's always been there to
buoy up anything that's not gone to plan has been property.
|
|
And
it's not just me, either. I've seen many women empowered through
property investment - men, too, of course - but it seems to
be the women for whom this business makes the biggest difference.
Perhaps it's because it's still so often the norm for the
man to be driving financial planning.

What
I've Found as a Property Presenter
|
|
Whatever
it is, I know that as a presenter, when I give talks on property
(which, along with my presentations training is my other love),
the larger portion of the audience is still male. Yet when
women, the natural homemakers, set their minds to making a
business of property investment or property development, they
can be dynamite.
BUT....Precisely
because we're homemakers, it can be easy to fall into the
trap of getting emotionally involved with properties. This
can have dire consequences for the inexperienced investor.
I've
also found that women think differently from men and this
can be a double-edges sword. On the one hand, women are exceptionally
good at property and building an empire once they get going,
on the other, they frequently need reassurance that the deals
are good and they're on the right track. I hope that's where
I come in!
